The Way You Post on Social Media is Like Resonance Structures in Organic Chemistry!
Imagine you go to the beach, snap a pic, and upload that image on different platforms for different audiences. You are being a resonance structure. It is no secret that social media often inflates reality. While images and captions reflect real life, they’re not the full picture. This concept mirrors resonance in chemistry because a compound can have multiple Lewis Structures that accurately depict its electrons' arrangement—just like how each social media post represents different facets of your life (ie family on Facebook, friends on Instagram, work on LinkedIn). These posts are like resonance structures—each one unique, yet none fully capturing the entire picture of you.
I am back working on my first "adult" book about organic chemistry. With this book, I aim to translate a hard subject in a fun, colorful, and relatable way. Follow for more Orgo tips and tricks.
